Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, PPM (Police Super)

On behalf of all the forces of the Airport Armed Police Battalion, I would like to welcome you to our website. This website is one of the many ways by which the unit tries to communicate with our community members. Through this website, our goal is to furnish you with useful information that will keep you informed and provide you with insights into the Airport Police family.

The Airport Armed Police Battalion is the premier aviation law-enforcement agency in the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka. Our focus and dedication is to provide the public with safe and sound travel through HSIA airports, with the comfort of knowing that you are protected as a passenger, visitor or employee. We are motivated in the principle that we are a service organization with a clear and eminent mission of serving the travelling personal and the airport community. Without continuous support and guidance of the Police Department’s Leadership Team, as well as the dedicated hard working members of our unit, and also the members of the aviation community that we have built partnerships with, we did not achieve our goal. With the many challenges, that the law enforcement agency is facing today, I am extremely proud of our ability to adapt and remain steadfast in our commitment in providing the best possible police services to our airport.

I would like to submit my humble request to you to remain with us through our website and facebook, which helps us to make our airport safe and sound and addressing the need of our aviation community.

Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan , PPM
Commanding Officer

Introduction

Airport Armed Police Battalion

With the increasing level of security concern around the world, security arrangements of most the important airports have been beefed up after 2001. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka is considered as the gateway between Bangladesh and the rest of the world. In the context of ever increasing security concern, including militancy, terrorist attack etc. there is no scope for compromise in case of such gateways. Considering the security threats, Bangladesh Government entrusted Armed Police Battalion, widely known as Airport Armed Police, with the responsibility of overall security of HSIA from June 2010.
